2. The Shiz Niz serves as a second fully functional packraft for lighter needs, such as a hunter, his gear, and one animal (sheep, goat, deer, griz hide, caribou, etc.)
I'll be using it this fall for caribou and goat/deer. with any luck i'll have some ideas of its useful payload and allowances for floating skinny water for one species.
I image that it'll be ideal when loaded with the game animal stored inside the pack like this photo, offering a clean load and less baggae hanging off it.
Time will tell, but this is not yet an official product that we'll offer. However, special orders for anyone interested will cost $1350 plus shipping (about $50 to Fairbanks from Canada).
Specs are currently 5.6" length, 13" tubes, two seats or one cargo sling, depending on how its intended to be used. As a trailer, our hunters will use it with one cargo sling, but as a single species hauler, 2 seat slings seem ideal.
weighs 9.4 lbs as seen. I'm thinking about adding 3" to the length, making it 5' 9" and weight about 10.2 lbs.

Several guys have asked what the heck is a Shiz Niz.
Well, after floating out an entire moose (qtr'd up of course) on the Big Rig this fall, got me to thinking about how hunters would fare with a large bull (55"+) on this packraft.
Given the fact that the Big Rig has a max capacity of 1000-lbs, and a heavy bull with antlers pushes 600-lbs or more, a stand alone Big Rig would struggle for depth and maneuverability with this load.
So, the Shiz Niz is a "trailer" that is fully self-bailing and serves a dual purpose:
1. It adds 600 lbs to the overall capacity of a packraft system (Big Rig plus Shiz Niz would be 1600-lbs total allowance).

User is OfflineThe hunter had the wrong or old number for the air service he wanted to use but I think he's good now. Thanks guys.
User is Offlinei was hoping to rent a car and drive up to anchorage. I called a few rental companies and they strongly recommended reserving something. i guess between the companies that are there I should be able to find something w/o reservation.

Yep, I'll have a booth full of them. We'll also introduce a special edition to the packraft family...the "Shiz Niz." This packraft doubles as a trailer for big moose and larger loads with the Big Rig, which adds 600 lbs to the usable load of the Big Rig. Combined, these two boats provide about 1600-lb weight capacity.
Alone, the Shiz Niz can be used as a sheep, caribou, griz or Mountain Goat packraft, with the same seating style as the Big Rig.
This packraft weighs about 10-lbs: Dimensions of the Shiz Niz are 5' 6" length, 43" width, and 13" tube diameter with self-bailing floor.
Hope to see everyone this weekend, the show starts Friday 20 April and runs through Sunday 22 April.
holla when you get there!

Just ordered some new lowers from the manufacture, had no idea I could order direct from them or order only parts but so far they have been receptive. I tried some Rhino liner on my sideXside this past weekend and it goes on pretty thick and just may be the ticket to protect from damage.
I guess I should stop using the paddles for jousting in the off season...and just so we are all clear I had to order some replacements for Scully as well, it's not just me!! Or we both use them as prybars. lol

Larry,
Are you going to have your Big Rig's at the Fairbanks Outdoor Show this weekend?

well, if you have a cargo service for meat haul back to anchorage, you're still gonna need an expediter to p/u from Alaska Air or NAC, then drop it off with the processer.
It would be worth renting a car when you need it without reservations. You'll usually find something available, even if just a U-haul van...
I usually suggest to my groups that they should handle the meat as much themselves to prevent negligence or mishandling along the chain of custody.
hope this helps, hunter.

User is OfflineI will be hunting out of kenai this fall, so thats where I will be flying into. I will need to get meat and antlers taken care of if im successful. I would like to have it hauled home by Alaska Meat Express if possible. this means i need to get the meat to anchorage. to do so i was going to rent a car and drive it there, and fly home from anchorage. I dont really want to rent a car for 2 weeks just to let it sit there, plus it would be pretty expensive. i could rent a car for one day but i wont know when or if ill need it until that day comes, which makes it hard to make reservations for a car rental. any one have any ideas? should i fly the meat air cargo to anchorage and forget renting a car. any info would be greatly appreciated.

depends on where you want to go, specifically. A couple of cub pilots around, but they usually limit there work to specific areas.
shoot me an email to let me know your thoughts, then i'll see who's working that general area.
